We are a traditional Church of England Parish and sit near the centre of that tradition in worship and our view of the Christian faith.

The church is made up of people of all ages and backgrounds. We aim to be a beacon of hope in our parish, supporting and upholding all and showing the love of God through our worship, hospitality and action.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The bible shows us God's intentions for humanity beginning with the creation of the universe. It tells us about the journey of the Jewish people with God over hundreds of years in the Old Testament and of a remarkable man, Jesus, in the New Testament.

Jesus was so remarkable in what he said and did that he revealed himself to be the Son of God. Through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus we have access to God's future for us.

After his resurrection Jesus returned to God and promised us all his continued presence through the Holy Spirit. It is through the Holy Spirit that we can encounter God in our lives today. We encounter God in nature, in worship, by seeing God's love in action as we serve or are served by other people.

Christianity is about believing in God who

  *  Created the universe in which we live and created humans to live in relationship with each other and with God.

  *  Lived 2000 years ago, died on a cross and rose from the dead to make it possible for all of us to turn to God and know his presence.

  *  Is active in the world, breaking through in love and power into people's lives.

The church is here to help all of us to discover more of this God - this Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit - and to discover what knowing the love of God can mean in our lives.
